We value our people. As a third-generation, family business we have never forgotten that our people is how we have gotten here today. We go further in trying to make sure our people have the time to spend with their families as well.
Our people get home. While many trucking and forestry businesses require their employees to be away from home for long stretches, not here. Our drivers, mechanics and operators are home virtually every night with their families. We think it’s important. Unless it’s impossible, we go out of our way to get our team home everyday. We pay well. We hire professionals and professionals deserve to be paid well…and it doesn’t stop there. We offer all of our full-time staff full medical, dental and extended health coverages... as well as a pension plan.
We have steady work. Being in the business for 3 generations has allowed us to develop good, contract-based work for our equipment and staff. We don’t chase work. That means that our employees can count on steady, regular work that allows them to work a full season and have reliable earnings.
At Munden, we don’t hire the average Class 1 driver. Log hauling in the BC Interior is reserved for elite, professional drivers - drivers that have developed the unique set of skills required for this specialized truck driving.
Our drivers earn top industry compensation – a combination of excellent wages with a full company-paid benefits package, pension plan, direct deposit payroll and contracts that provide a long season with predictable earnings.
We are always looking for professional drivers to join our team. If you consider yourself a professional driver with mountain, off-road and log hauling (or similar) experience, a clean drivers abstract and are looking to be part of a tight-knit team focused on providing exceptional service, we want to talk to you.
Not Looking for Full-Time Work? – We’re Still Interested. Whether you are nearing the end of your driving career or are only looking for part time work, Munden may still have an opportunity that fits your lifestyle. While most of our professional drivers work full-time, we have a growing pool of part-time and casual drivers looking for anything from occasional to part-time scheduling. We work hard to find a fit that suits you.
At Home Time
Our drivers are home virtually every night. In fact, it is unusual that we ask drivers to stay away. If we do, the company looks after accommodations in a comfortable hotel/motel.
New Kenworth Equipment and Modern Maintenance Facility
We spec only the best equipment for the job. Our fleet consists of late model Kenworth tractors 5 years old or newer to help ensure up time. Any mechanical issues are dealt with by our 7-day a week maintenance facility staffed with certified mechanics. We want our drivers driving... leave the serious maintenance to us!”
A No-Nonsense Approach to Safety
We refuse to cut corners when it comes to safety. At Munden, you can count on having safe equipment and the full support and expectation by company ownership that we will always operate according to the law. No exceptions.
As a small business owner yourself, we know that choosing an organization is one of the most important business decisions you will make. Munden has the history, experience, facilities and contracts to make your time as an owner operator as profitable and enjoyable as any company in our industry.
At Munden, we don’t make a profit unless you do. Our fuel card and insurance programs don’t come with any markup from us…we only make money, like you, when you’re rolling. We just don’t believe in doing things any differently.
Join our growing owner operator division. We offer a comprehensive owner operator package including in-house financing, equipment spec’ing assistance, maintenance plans, fuel card and insurance programs, and steady work with predictable revenue.
Treatment just like we own the truck.
All too often, owner operators are treated differently than company equipment and drivers. Not here, we value the contributions that owner operators make to our success and our owner operators are treated like everyone else – just like one of the family.
Fuel adjustments direct from our customers to your pay statement.
We understand the significant impact of fuel on your bottom line. Our policy is to pass on 100% of any fuel adjustment we get from our customers – no exceptions. We don’t take on contracts without a reasonable fuel adjustment clause. Period.
Our maintenance division is the fastest growing area of our business. Not only do we provide PM and repair services to our own fleet, but also we have a growing list of outside customers looking to have us provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for them. Having completed a significant facility expansion in 2014, we have been growing our maintenance team on a steady basis. With the addition of our Tank Division, we also employee certified welders and fabricators for both aluminum and steel work.
We are proud to say that we provide a great compensation plan. Our maintenance staff enjoys a very competitive wage plan including weekend shift differential, coupled with the benefits and pension plan provided to all of our full time staff.
Shift Schedules to Meet Your Needs
Many of our mechanics enjoy a 4-on, 4-off shift schedule arrangement that gives them all the benefits of a predictable schedule, with the luxury of 4 full days to spend with their family. Take a set off and enjoy 12 days at home, or on that vacation you’ve been struggling to fit in!
Career Development Opportunities
At Munden, we encourage continual career development. Not only do we offer an ever-changing and challenging work environment with the wide variety of repair work we see, but we provide maintenance staff to participate in training like Cummins Virtual University.
Our logging crews are selected based on each individuals desire to be part of a team. Our forestry heavy equipment operators are the front-line of our operations - making our harvesting/hauling systems work smoothly and efficiently together. If you are interested in being part of a team of professionals who takes pride in delivering a high quality product, safely, Munden is just the place for you.
As part of a quota logging operation, we have the steady work right out our back yard that really appeals to people who are looking for consistency and security from positions within the forest industry. Whether it’s bunching, skidding, processing, decking, loading or road-building, we’ve got all of the log harvesting bases covered.
While forestry jobs can be known to be very seasonal, our operations typically enjoy a 10 ½ month year. As quota loggers in undercut areas, our customers are working closely with us to maximize the length of our season – providing more production to them and stable, predictable earnings to you.
The Right Equipment
We spec’ the right equipment for the job and ensure it is maintained by our mechanics to the highest standards. This just makes your day easier, more enjoyable and more productive. Just makes sense.
Behind every front-line professional driver, forestry heavy-equipment operator or maintenance division mechanic is a team of operational support personnel. At Munden, we have a variety of office and administration career paths to interest people with non-driving or trade backgrounds.
A Professional Work Environment
We strive to maintain a healthy, positive and respectful work environment for all of our staff, including office and administrative functions.
Like all of our positions at Munden, we provide our office and administration staff competitive base wages plus a comprehensive benefits plan; including: - medical, dental and extended health plan - pension plan - work flexibility around family obligations
